Retrofit Emission Control Device (RECD) – Clean Air Innovation for Diesel Gensets

Cummins introduces the Retrofit Emission Control Device (RECD) — a revolutionary, filter-less clean air solution for all diesel genset customers. Designed using Electrostatic Precipitation technology, it captures over 70% of particulate matter carbon, significantly improving air quality. Custom-built for Cummins Gensets, these RECDs comply with the National Green Tribunal order O.A. 681/2018, making them a smart and sustainable choice for a cleaner environment.

  • No Manual Testing
  • No Choking
  • Low Maintenance
  • No Filter Replacement
  • No Water Usage
  • No Chemicals Required

Salient Features

  • Energy Efficient: Operates without the need for active regeneration or dependency on high exhaust temperatures, ensuring consistent performance with minimal energy demand.
  • Robust & Versatile: Engineered to perform reliably across a wide range of DG set conditions, with easy adaptability for retrofit installations.
  • Low Flow Restriction: Delivers superior efficiency even at low exhaust flow rates, outperforming conventional filter-based systems.
  • Fuel Efficient: Maintains zero additional fuel consumption, eliminating operational cost overheads.
  • Smart Monitoring: Equipped with advanced IoT-enabled diagnostics and cloud-based alerts for real-time performance tracking and predictive maintenance.
  • Eco-Friendly Reuse: Captured particulate matter can be safely reused in industries such as paints, dyes, and plastics, reducing environmental waste.
  • Durable Design: Designed for long-term durability, ensuring stable performance in all weather and operating conditions.

Working Principle

  • Installed directly after the DG exhaust system, requiring no major modifications.
  • Exhaust gases pass through a high-voltage corona discharge field, initiating the filtration process.
  • Particulate matter (PM) becomes electrically charged and is drawn toward oppositely charged collection electrodes.
  • Charged particles cluster together (agglomerate) into larger particles (above PM10), making them easier to capture.
  • The collected particulate matter is converted into dry powder form for easy handling.
  • Captured particles can be safely reused or disposed of, ensuring zero secondary pollution.
