DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid)

Diesel Exhaust Fluid is a non-toxic, non-flammable solution made of roughly 32.5% high-purity automotive-grade urea and 67.5% deionized water. It is injected into the exhaust stream ahead of the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) catalyst, where it converts harmful oxides of nitrogen (NOx) into harmless nitrogen and water vapor. Maintaining fluid purity to the ISO 22241 standard is essential, since contamination or the use of incompatible materials in storage and dispensing equipment can damage the SCR aftertreatment system.

  • ISO 22241 Purity Standard: Formulated and maintained to strict international purity requirements that protect the SCR system.
  • Safe to Handle: Non-toxic and non-flammable, making it easy and safe to store, dispense, and use.
  • SCR System Protection: Correct concentration and cleanliness prevent corrosion, contamination, and premature aftertreatment failure.
  • Proper Storage Extends Shelf Life: Storing between 12°F and 86°F keeps DEF stable for over a year, and longer when kept below 65°F.
